A yacht charter to Central and South America offer some of the most exciting and enjoyable itineraries in the world. There are no cruise boats to take you to most of the destinations in Central or South America. A private yacht charter, whether crewed or bareboat, will allow you to discover a paradise that has not yet been affected by mass tourism. Many of the archipelagos can only be appreciated by a charter boat vacation. There are very few charter companies in any of the destinations discussed, so it is advisable to plan early, and carefully.

Arriving in Central or South America is not as challenging as you may believe. Most destinations are easily accessible from major cities in the United States and Europe. However, Los Roques in particular will take careful planning by you and your yacht broker. In addition, security issues and the hazardous uncharted coral reef lined waters; necessitate a crewed yacht charter for several of the destinations.

If planning to bareboat in Belize or Brazil, it is crucial to confirm that your sailing license or resume will be acceptable by the charter company and to have in writing that confirmation. Outside of Belize, one-way itineraries are not very common in the South and Central America as there are fewer bases and boats to shuttle around.

The weather conditions are ideal with trade winds blowing from December to July. The cool weather in Brazil during their winter months should not deter you. Many great deals can be found during the months of May to September. Other destinations that boast year round warm weather, offer discounted sailing rates usually in the months of July and August.
